The Mercantile Athletic Club, set a top the World Trade Center Building on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, was founded in 1992 as "Jakarta's First City Athletic Club" to enhance the health, recreation and entertainment lifestyle pursuits of its Members. The Club's elegant surroundings combine a city dining club and a sophisticated athletic club into one single convenient location.
Dining & Function Rooms
A variety of international cuisines are offered in the Club's dining areas; featuring the Wimbledon Grill, the Miyabi Japanese Dining Room, the Shutters Bar, and the Bandahara Ballroom, plus a number of private meeting rooms to provide its Members with the opportunity to entertain their business and social guests in style. The Shutters' Bar is a favorite among local and foreign business people for informal lunches, networking and a relaxing drink with friends.
Athletics
Two rooftop tennis courts, two air-conditioned squash courts, a 20/meter lap pool with adjoining whirlpool and fully equipped modern gymnasium are accessible for Members only. Professional fitness trainers and massage services are also provided for Club Members including body treatments and aromatherapy.
Members
More than 1,600 active Members of Mercantile Athletic Club are both Indonesian and expatriates who hold senior positions in major companies in Indonesia. As an added benefit of their membership, they have full non-resident membership privileges at more than 250 prestigious private golf, country, city, athletic and resort clubs around the world which make up the International Associate Clubs network.
Membership Categories & Benefits
Membership at the Mercantile Athletic Club is at the discretion of the Club's Board of Advisors and the Admissions Committee. All membership candidates must submit a completed applications form and be approved by the Club's Admissions Committee before enrollment into the Club. Priority will be given to those candidates sponsored by existing members and additional nominees of Corporate Members.
